News names individuals indicted in alleged drug trafficking case

If you get caught as a part of a drug bust, you could face charges even if you’re not actually selling, using or manufacturing drugs. This case is a good example of how being indicted can affect you, since each of the people have been named in the news.

Several people have been indicted in southwestern Virginia after accusations of being involved in a drug trafficking scheme. According to the news from Aug. 22, seven people in Abingdon have been indicted so far. Of those indicted, all are between the ages of 27 and 43.

Each of the individuals has been charged with conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine as well as conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. One of the individuals, a 40-year-old man, is also charged with three counts for drug possession with the intent to distribute, two counts for possessing a firearm when previously convicted of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime and one count for maintaining a place intended for the distribution and manufacture of methamphetamine.

The 27-year-old facing accusations has additionally been charged with two counts for possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime and two counts for intending to distribute methamphetamine. The individual also faces two counts for possessing a firearm, since he was previously convicted of a felony.
